You don’t have to own a boat to join the fun. Annual membership is very reasonable at $100 for the whole family, and there are sign up sheets posted at the yacht club where you can volunteer for crew or race committee positions. Drop by the club for more information about any MYC events, or contact Brian Lynch, Commodore, Mattapoisett Yacht Club, P. O. Box 421, Mattapoisett, MA, 02739.

Spring Fling      Back to Top
Provides a chance for members to gather, following a long, cold winter. It affords a chance for camaraderie and begins to focus attention on the season to come

Clubhouse Commissioning Day      Back to Top
Every year we have a Clubhouse Commissioning Day . We are looking for volunteers to help us do some scraping, painting and general cleaning. We plan to have a cook out after the work is done as a thank you to the volunteers. Please consider lending a hand — we can use the help!   Please bring a paint brush and scraper. Ladders of any type are appreciated, as well. We begin our spring “spruce-up” of the clubhouse at 9:00 AM.

Open House, Skipper's Meeting, cocktail party       Back to Top
The most popular club activity is the Wednesday night race series, which attracted 35 yachts last year. We hope to see at least that many racers again this year.
Existing and prospective members are invited to meet with Flag officers of the MYC, to discuss race procedures, changes in racing rules, MYC course marks and other subjects of interests to racers. Info for skippers meeting - click here.  Starting
mid-June, the yacht club hosts one race every Wednesday night beginning at 6 p.m. (See RACING for more details)

Start of Racing Season followed by cook out      Back to Top
Members and their crew are treated to a cook-out, following the first official race of the season. As with all successive Wednesday nights, prizes are awarded to the first, second and third place finishers in each racing class.

Rendezvous       Back to Top
If cruising is your cup of tea, you can participate in one of the two Mattapoisett Yacht Club rendezvous planned for this year.

End of Racing Season, followed by pizza at clubhouse      Back to Top
Just as the first race is celebrated with a cook-out, the end of the Wednesday Night series is punctuated by a pizza party which follows the last race. Once again, members and their crew gather to eat and tell stories of their racing season.

Fall clubhouse decommissioning      Back to Top
Help is sought from members and friends to clean up for winter and to archive the MYC’s photo collection.

MYC pig roast      Back to Top
This annual event draws friends and members as they meet to wind down the racing season and watch the Patriots on TV. Oh yeah, there’s a roast pig there too, beginning at 1:00 PM.

Annual dinner meeting      Back to Top
Members gather to close out the race season over dinner. An awards ceremony is also held to commemorate the accomplishments of racers throughout all of the MYC’s season of events.
